TEAM STATS

Notes:

-Couturier - Stole the puck a few times, great plays, goal in first. -Philly’s defense is strong this game – Pittsburgh needs to figure out a way to hold a lead. -Good move from Sanheim in the last minute in the first, breaking up a 3 on 1. Continued to be strong defensively throughout the game. -Hayes scores with 30 seconds left in the first. *Based on his stats and how he played today, he’s proved to be a valuable player on this Philly team. Definitely will be someone to look out for during these playoffs. -Hart stayed solid after letting in one goal in the first – Won’t be a surprise if he becomes Philly’s official brick wall. -Pittsburgh picked up their momentum late, forcing OT – hopefully for their sake, they figure out a way to push themselves earlier. Their effort is obviously there.

TEAM STATS

Notes:

-Toronto took a lot of penalties – they were fortunate to get 2 SHG, but that definitely won’t fly against Columbus on Sunday. -The Habs need to brush the rust off of them in order to have a fighting chance against Pittsburgh on Saturday. -(17:50 remaining in the game) – Muzzin – rough hit on Belzile! -Rielly is one of the stars of the day, with a goal and 2 assists. -Kerfoot is the other star, scoring 2 goals. -Rookie Robertson, fighting to earn a spot in the lineup, also had an assist. -Tatar played well, scoring one for Montreal – Domi is also cleared to play, which will help beef up their offense. They weren’t terrible, outshooting the Leafs 30-23, but it’s clear that Toronto is the stronger defensive team.

TEAM STATS

Notes:

-Both teams had a good game but Edmonton played with some heart tonight, in honor of fallen teammate Colby Cave. -Out of the three games tonight, this one was the grittiest – the Battle of Berta is alive and well! -(14:00 remaining in the game) – Koskinen made two fantastic back-to-back diving saves! Stood on his head during the first half of the second period. Will definitely be the main starter come Saturday. -McDavid and Draisaitl remain a powerhouse, per usual. -Big stop by Smith (14:40 remaining in game) – also played well tonight.
